Here are our key takeaways:
Building organic growth is a journey
Organic success doesn’t happen overnight. It can take months to find a style that earns you that coveted viral hit. It’s all about commitment to the journey and the key here is resilience.
Don’t get despondent. Continue to test and learn and trust that your creativity will eventually become a success. Note that if something doesn’t work, you can always try it again!
Create an identifiable style
It is so important to find the right ‘Tok’ you want to be sitting in. Once you’ve found your ‘Tok’, then create a style that is original to your brand.
This will resonate with your audience and make your brand instantly recognisable. However, when choosing your style, consider what resources are available to you so that you can maintain and scale your content effectively.
Research & interact with your audience
Ask yourself: who is it you want to connect with? Then, look into what and who your target audience is interacting with.
Use these answers to establish how your content can add value to your audience while blending in alongside other content they are engaging with.
Most importantly, listen to your audience – interact with their comments and create TikToks based on their suggestions. This is the key to community building.
Be authentic
Authenticity is crucial for success on TikTok. This platform enables you to show a different side of your brand, which can help you connect with your audience on a deeper level.
This is the key to Urban Tandoor’s success. They are unapologetically themselves and it is clear they have fun with every piece of content. This approach is endearing to their audience, and the staff (or celebrities) of Urban Tandoor instantly make the viewers smile and engage.
Consistency is key
Be consistent with your posting, don’t let it go stagnant. Whether that’s 5 times a week, or even twice a week to get the ball rolling, consistency helps to train the TikTok algorithm. Test optimal posting times to reveal patterns and analyse when your audience is the most engaged.
Ensure you are active
Follow and interact with accounts in your niche. This will help boost your discoverability and help place you in the correct ‘Tok’.
Don’t rely on trends
Original content is what performs best on TikTok. Whilst trends can be great for showing the entertaining side of your brand, jumping on every trend is not scalable and can sometimes steer you away from your identifiable style.
Pick trends that will land and are applicable to your brand, rather than trying to shoehorn your way into trends that don’t make sense.
Get involved!
TikTok is a fun platform, so take full advantage of that! Continue to test your crazy ideas and learn what performs well vs. what doesn’t. Don’t be ashamed to look at what other brands and creators are doing and get inspiration from them. The more creative on TikTok, the better!
