TikTok Ads Training – What Creative Works and Why
TikTok ads can be confusing for people tackling them for the first time, so we’ve put together a TikTok Ads Training Guide.
Knowing how to use TikTok ads is only half the battle, the rest is knowing what works as a TikTok ad.
Let’s take a look at conversion and app installation and how creative decisions can boost the quality and effectiveness of your ads.
Our Top Tips:
Start with a hook.
If you start your ad with a question, especially about your audience, i.e. ‘do you know how much your car is worth?’ then you’re going to get your audience to pause their scrolling as they think about the answer.
Don’t mention the brand too soon
Wait at least 5-10 seconds depending on the length of the ad.
Your ad needs to blend in with the rest of the FYP. Users do not want to be sold to and mentioning your brand too soon will be unnatural and throw users off.
Don’t use marketing or brand speak
i.e. ‘just do it’ etc.
If it doesn’t sound natural when someone is speaking then it won’t feel authentic. It will feel like an advert and turn users off.
Have a clear message
What will your viewers get out of this advert? Make sure to stay on topic whilst being as authentic and natural as possible.
Give people a call to action
Users need a reason to do something now.
A discount is really good for this!
Keep it succinct
TikTok is for short-form video content! Keep it short and sweet to keep the attention of your audience.
Make sure it feels authentic
Authenticity keeps coming up, but it’s the most important thing to remember when creating ads on TikTok. Blend in. Make sure you’re using creators who understand TikTok so what users see feels natural.
TikTok ads generally have a shorter shelf life than other social media sites.
Bare in mind that you may need more adverts running at the same time with different creators and hooks, etc.
