As a TikTok agency, we are constantly trying and testing out various content styles, features and trends on the platform.

We know what works well for our clients on TikTok and what sometimes doesn’t land as well.

In this blog, we will highlight what features/trends we think should stay on TikTok in 2024: ‘In’ and what we think should be left in 2023: ‘Out’.

Ins

Carousels

Carousels will continue to skyrocket in 2024 after their huge success in 2023.

We will perhaps start to see more of a development and expansion with styles of carousels e.g story times.

TikTok seem to promote and prioritise carousels as a content style, so having them in your brand’s strategy this year is crucial for success.

Also – they are so easy to do!

High-quality content

High-quality content is going to have a place on TikTok in 2024.

We are seeing more and more content on TikTok with that higher quality to the video.

TikTok creator Monet McMichael for example, has mastered this within her content style.

It looks sharper, adds credibility, enhances user experience and we think there will be more time spent editing outwith the app, for these more professional looking TikTok videos we are beginning to see.

Outs

Posting and ghosting

Posting your content then not replying and engaging with your community of followers on TikTok can be detrimental for your brand.

In order for to keep your audience engaged with your content, actively engage with your followers in the comments section by liking, replying and interacting with them.

This how you can successfully build a community on TikTok for your brand.

Brands jumping on every trends

It can be difficult sometimes to think of the angle that you’re going to take with certain trends.

However, if you find that you’re forcing yourself into a trend, then it probably isn’t right for your brand.

While countless TikTok trends exist, focus on only the relevant ones that feel right for your brand.

Consider the perception of your brand and incorporate these trends accordingly.
