The best UK charities on TikTok 2025
TikTok has emerged as a powerful platform for charities to connect with audiences and drive meaningful engagement – the #charity has almost 1M posts and there are currently over 200K search terms around fundraising and philanthropy and 92K for charity work terms in the last 7 days on TikTok.
With a significant portion of the 18-24 year old demographic on TikTok*, this opens up a powerful opportunity for UK charities to engage a younger audience who may not respond to more traditional fundraising approaches.
The platform’s ability to drive engagement and action makes it particularly valuable for charitable organisations. When users feel connected to organisations on TikTok, they’re more likely to support their causes and participate in their initiatives.
In this TikTok report, we spotlight some of the most creative and effective charity brands in the UK on TikTok. These brands stand out for their originality, consistency, and ability to connect with audiences in a way that feels authentic, engaging, and uniquely ‘TikTok’.
Methodology
To identify the Top 10 UK Charities on TikTok, we conducted an in-depth evaluation based on their organic content performance and strategy.
Our assessment focused on the following key areas:
Content Strategy & Uniqueness
We examined the creativity of each brand’s TikTok content, looking at:
- Originality & Differentiation – Do they offer something unique or innovative in their industry?
- Consistency & Frequency – How often do they post, and is their content strategy consistent?
- Brand Personality – Does their content align with a strong, recognisable brand voice?
- TikTok Native – Are they native to TikTok? Does their content feel at home on the For You Page, or does it come across as repurposed from other channels?
- Views & Engagement – Have they seen high engagement on stand out content that sets them apart and resonates organically with their audience?
This methodology highlights brands that are not just growing their presence but leading the way in organic TikTok content, setting benchmarks for creativity and engagement in the charity sector.
Please note: this is not a ranking but a collection of accounts that we love and think deserve the praise and recognition!
RSPB
RSPB, or Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, is the UK’s largest nature conservation charity and is one of our favourite charity brands on TikTok right now – if you haven’t heard of them by now on TikTok, we highly suggest you check them out.
What started as a niche meme and a ‘silly’ TikTok series, ‘Bird of the Week’ created by Yas Devi, is now 50+ episodes deep, with millions of views and a loyal fanbase – and are now even launching a book based on the series.
With stand out content like attending a Charli XCX concert with a toy seagull singing “It’s so confusing to be a gull,” they’ve shown full commitment to the bit – and it’s certainly paying off.
It’s long-term storytelling done right, turning a traditional charity into a Gen Z favourite. Their whole TikTok strategy is a fantastic test case of taking a rather traditional brand and making it relevant for a younger audience. It just goes to show the power of TikTok for brands that truly embrace the platform.
National Trust
National Trust might be the largest conservation charity in Europe, but they’re also smashing it on TikTok. They are bringing fun, educational, and innovative content to TikTok, all while making heritage feel fresh. They are crafting their content to effectively drive awareness by targeting a younger audience – it takes you a good few seconds to realise it’s actually content coming from a brand.
Stand out hits include humorous content like ‘Flat sandwich and view’ which got the comment section popping off with 5.1M views, ‘Blasting Fetty Wap on a JBL speaker in a room where Henry VIII went to the toilet to try summon his spirit’ (a personal fave) and ‘Beavers are back’ showcasing beavers being released freely in the wild in England for the first time in 500 years (incredible and got us in our feels).
You can see that the team behind the content is trusted to get on with the creative ideas they have, no matter how silly they are, and we need more of this from brands on TikTok. They are also a great example of a brand who select trends wisely adding their own unique spin on them that actually work.

Key Takeaways
1. Storytelling is key
Don’t just post, tell a story. TikTok rewards characters and recurring formats that people can invest in. Whether it’s historical reenactments, or birds with personality disorders, these organisations lead with narrative. From long-form series like “Bird of the Week” (RSPB) and “The Victorian Way” (English Heritage), compelling storytelling builds emotional connections, drives loyalty, and keeps people coming back.
2. Entertainment first, mission second
To build awareness and affinity, you need to build awareness and attention first – make people laugh, confused or sympathise before you try to convert. Whether it’s beavers returning to the wild, seals predicting rugby winners, or a plush seagull at a Charli XCX concert, they lead with humour, relatability, emotion or joy. The serious message is still there, but it’s typically done in a ‘native to TikTok’ way.
3. Adapt to the platform
Respect TikTok’s language, join in and make it personable. The more native your content feels, the more impact it will have. These organisations fully embrace TikTok’s culture – trends, sounds, language, formats – but they make them their own. From Mind utilising trends to help fight mental health stigma, to RSPB using Gen Z language and building a viral series – each brand shows how to stay authentic and relevant to their cause and reach new audiences by playing into the nature of TikTok.
