August Social Media Calendar

As a TikTok marketing agency, we know that as August quickly approaches, it’s important for social media managers everywhere to know the key dates in the social media calendar.

With this foresight, you can start to prepare relevant content for August that is topical, making it even more engaging.

For this social media calendar, we’ve included the key dates along with some content ideas to help you out.

*WARNING*

While it may be tempting to participate in everything, be sure to consider whether or not it’s actually relevant to your brand. Topical content only works if it aligns with your values.

The Calendar:

August 1st

National Girlfriend Day

For any LGBT brands, try a TikTok montage or an image carousel of famous women/women relationships on your visual platforms.

Dating apps may want to highlight a story about a woman taking the first step in a relationship.

August 2nd

National Colouring Book Day

Try uploading a stencil of your logo and any fun icons related to your brand for people to colour!

Ask people to tag you in theirs and share them to your Stories.

Having your team colour it and post that in a carousel with the blank stencil as the first photo would work really nicely.

August 5th

International Beer Day

Alcohol brands this would be a perfect day to showcase your favourite beer in your arsenal or do a day-in-the-life style TikTok about a part of your business.

Depending on your company culture, you can also show your team with a beer after work for a fun LinkedIn post.

August 8th

International Cat Day

Everyone loves animals.

If you’re an animal brand it’s time to showcase your cat products, it wouldn’t hurt to show off some cute cats, too!

We plan to show off our employees with their cute cats at their WFH desks!

Remember you can be fun – show off your team members and any behind-the-scenes stuff to your socials, too. TikTok loves a cute cat video!

August 9th

Book Lovers Day

Most industries will have valuable books people should invest in.

Learning never stops.

Why don’t you showcase your favourite book recommendations in an Instagram or LinkedIn post?

A nice calm montage of these books would be a valuable TikTok.

August 16th

National Tell A Joke Day

Simple! Are there any one-liners about your industry?

Maybe do a TikTok going around the office and ask them to tell you their best jokes!

August 19th

World Photography Day

Social media managers will surely have an abundance of photographs of the brand or business.

Simply post your favourites or shout about your favourite equipment!

August 21st

Poet’s Day

Another silly day in the social media calendar.

Get the office to write a short two-line poem about their job role and film a funny TikTok of them reading it out.

Remember TikToks can be posted to Reels, too!

August 26th

International Dog Day

Animal brands and beyond, you know what to do!

It’s time to show off the puppy products and employees with cute dogs!

August 26th

National Women’s Equality Day

For the more serious days in content calendars, there are a few things to consider. You don’t want to just post on one day about the women in your company and then be done with it.

This tells your consumers that you don’t really care about Women’s Equality Day, just coming across like you do on social media.

Your business should reflect important days like this year-round, so that when the actual day comes along, you can highlight your efforts in a more sensitive post.

August is creeping up on us so it’s time to start planning!
