As a TikTok agency, we know that TikTok has been experimenting with new features recently and are now looking at introducing “TikTok Photos”.
TikTok may be considering a fresh approach to compete with Instagram, as reports suggest the development of a new photo app called “TikTok Photos”.
The upcoming TikTok Photos platform is set to launch “soon,” allowing users to seamlessly sync photo posts between the main TikTok app and the new service.
According to the code in the back-end of the TikTok app, it appears that TikTok users will soon receive prompts to share their images on the new app:
Aiming to “reach like-minded people who enjoy photo posts.”
It also indicates that TikTok users will receive automatic prompts, encouraging them to share their photo posts through a pop-up message within the TikTok app.
Additionally, there seems to be a new welcome message for the app:
“TikTok Photos will be launched soon, we hope to help you gain new audiences in the new app. If the switch is on, we’ll sync your public photos to the new app, whether you close the pop-up or not.”
The ByteDance-owned platform is entering various arenas, also gearing up to challenge YouTube with 30-minute videos.
In July, it introduced text posts, aiming to compete with platforms such as X and Threads.
TikTok has also already recently introduced a “photo mode” feature for still images within its stream
It has also been actively encouraging users to share more photos as of late.
So, will it be a hit?
